The nurses were all very helpful and friendly. I wasn't particularly concerned about the procedure but they put me at my ease. The anesthetist was very good at explaining what would happen and also while putting me to sleep. The after care was excellent and I couldn't really suggest anything to improve on. The hospital and its staff are an example of the best care that the NHS can give. It is a pity that the press don't see this side of the NHS as something worth reporting on.

The staff were very friendly and took great care to explain what to expect at each stage of care. They gave plenty of opportunities for asking questions and voicing concerns. The ward sister was available and involved in the care of patients. The medical team were approachable and also gave the opportunity to ask questions. After returning from theatre a quieter atmosphere (no TV) would have been nicer but the ward was generally peaceful.

The staff were friendly and informative. I was made very welcome and very comfortable during my stay. It was noticeable that the team were very at ease with each other which made for a relaxed, comfortable mindset approaching surgery. Despite it only being a local anaesthetic I was so relaxed I nodded off during recovery.

A wonderful hospital. This was my first ever operation and from the moment I arrived to the time of my leaving I felt totally at ease. I was treated with kindness, dignity and respect by all the staff on Ward 1 and in the theatre. They were a credit to their professions and to the NHS itself. I can' t thank them all enough. I cannot see how any improvements could have been made to the first class care I was given.
